1. Outdoor Seasonal Naturalist Intern

Do you love being outdoors? Are you curious about nature? Do you enjoy exploring your backyard and sharing discoveries with others? Then consider joining the summer naturalist team! Warner Park Nature Center is looking for a summer seasonal naturalist that will work with our Environmental Education (EE) program to provide outdoor exploration programs to youth, families, day camps and the general public. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Share enthusiasm of nature with youth in a variety of programs and day camps 

• Help develop and plan environmental education activities for youth and families 

• Facilitate visitors in the exploration of the pond and garden

• Support the EE program by helping maintain bird feeding stations, gardens and grounds 

• Assist park visitors at the front desk and through encounters in the Park Details 

Details 

Time Period: June and July 2021 

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday and some evenings, 30 hours/week 

Salary: $9.50 per hour

2. Tree Care Specialist

Do you love trees and working outdoors? Do you have experience identifying and caring for native landscaping? Are you curious about nature? Then consider joining our summer tree care team! Warner Parks is looking for summer seasonal tree care specialists to maintain and inventory Tree Trust trees throughout the Parks. This position will be part of the summer S.W.E.A.T. program.

Key Responsibilities 

• Identify, locate and assess existing Tree Trust trees 

• Perform basic tree care maintenance such as planting, pruning, pest management and watering 

• Develop digital maps of all trees using Avenza or similar mapping program 

• Set up and operate a F350 flatbed truck with a full 500-gallon water tank

Details 

Time Period: June and July 2021 

Hours: Monday-Friday, 35 hours/week 

Salary: $15.30 per hour
