Sandy Bivens BIRD Garden

July 22, 2020

Bless the Birds, and Sandy Bivens

We are thrilled to announce the opening of the Sandy Bivens Bird Garden, designed by long-time Nature Center friend and landscape architect Tara Armistead, and donated by her husband Ben Armistead, on the Warner Park Nature Center Campus. Named in honor of Sandy Bivens, founder of the Warner Park Nature Center’s BIRD program, the garden features native trees, shrubs, and flowers that provide food and shelter to attract birds and other wildlife.

Many “props” - including a variety of feeders and water sources - can be found throughout the garden, and visitors can enjoy entirety of the view from the new cedar swing or by simply meandering through the magical space.

Celebrate Sandy's BIRD program legacy with us on August 29 during the Virtual Hummingbird Celebration... feeder tips, fun facts, videos, activities and more await!
