Riparian Buffer Restoration

What is riparian buffer restoration? It’s when you replace shallow root systems along waterways with those that run much deeper, with native trees as opposed to invasive plants, resulting in greater filtration of water, stronger buffer against flooding, and a more biodiverse ecosystem for reptilian/amphibian inhabitants.

Big thanks to our friends at Harpeth Conservancy who donated 375 tree seedlings and our volunteers from Emory University who recently planted them along Vaughn’s Creek. Riparian buffer restoration is but one of the many facets of our #InvasiveFreeWP approach, and we’re thankful to the many friends who are aiding our efforts to #ProtectWarnerParks.
